This 4 week course will introduce you to the basic principles of Pilates and look in detail at the standard mat exercises. We will focus on:
Technique: to maximise the effectiveness of each exercise. Proper technique will help build a strong foundation in order to progress to more advanced exercises.
Alignment: to help better engage the intended muscles in order to build strength and stability. Proper alignment promotes better posture.
Breathwork: focusing on the breath during an exercise improves Mind-Body Connection; helps to engage the deep core stabilising muscles and also improves the flow of the exercise.
Precision of movement: to ensure that the correct muscles are being engaged to maximise the benefits of each exercise. Proper alignment and controlled movement helps prevent injuries reducing strain on joints.
